Not sad as in pathetic, but sad.

As I was walking home, I saw on the side walk a dead cat. I knew it was dead, it's eyes were open, it was on it's side, staring at nothing. At first I thought it may be asleep, but I knew it was dead when it didn't move.

Then, when the buses passed by, people started yelling "HA HA DEAD CAT"... This is one of those moments I just don't understand people at all. Someone loved, probably still loved, that cat, and you're making fun of it since it's dead?

I wanted so much to give that cat a proper burial, but here it's forbidden to dig on any property except your own unless you have a permit, and I doubt I could bury it in my own yard.

It's just sad, that teenagers, who are supposed to be mature, laugh at death.

Guess why this is why we're known as the "invincible" generation, we think, because we have medicine and pills, we'll live forever.

Just something I needed to get out. Not a rant, exactly.

strange, i saw a dead cat too on the side of the street (RIGHT at the side walk) 1, 2 days ago? High school students were walking past me and my friends, looking at the cat too. Unlike your situation, they cared and were freaking out, feeling bad. My friends were too. I will be straight up and say if i say something about really serious, intense death, i will laugh, but NEVER if it really happens to someone/thing.
